Why you will love this recipe
- This recipe is simple and takes five minutes to make! And it is very easy cleanup at the end.
- No seed oils or preservatives in this Miracle Whip. I make this homemade Miracle Whip with avocado oil, but olive oil is a great oil too!
- Easy to flavor with other spices as needed – if wanting it more sweet or savory, you can adjust the amounts as needed.
- Adjust the level of tanginess as wanted! I use white wine vinegar for my Miracle Whip which gives it that “tang”, but you can substitute other vinegars to make it less so.

Why avocado oil?
Avocado oil is a great, versatile oil that is high in nutrients as it carries many of the same nutrients as avocados themselves.
This includes being high in oleic acid, which is believed to lower blood pressure and prevent certain diseases. Additionally, avocado oil is also high in several vitamins and good for eye health.
As a cooking oil, it has a very light flavor and can substituting very easily for any cooking or baking that I do!

How long will this Miracle Whip last?
Since homemade Miracle Whip has a raw egg in it, this will stay good in the up to five days.
Or, if you are like me and want to extend your homemade Miracle Whip’s life in the refrigerator, you can add a small amount of a probiotic liquid to your Miracle Whip. The probiotic liquid will help to lacto-ferment the raw egg in your Miracle Whip to make it safe to consume even months later.
Different probiotic liquids you could use is whey from kefir or yogurt, kombucha or brine from another fermented food like sauerkraut. Here is a video on what this looks like for homemade mayo or Miracle Whip.

Equipment needed
To make your own Miracle Whip, you will need:
Ingredients
For homemade Miracle Whip, you will need these ingredients:
- Avocado Oil
- White Wine Vinegar
- Sugar
- Salt
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Paprika
How do you make homemade Miracle Whip?
First, gather all of your ingredients, your mason jar and immersion blender.

In a mason jar, add the egg, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt and spices. Then, use the immersion blender and blend everything together.

Once the egg mixture is blended, add the avocado oil to your egg mixture very gradually, with the immersion blender running. This helps the avocado oil be emulsified better.

As you see the avocado oil starting to be emulsified (turning solid white-ish and thick), continue to blend with the immersion blender until all the avocado oil is emulsified

Serve right away, or refrigerate for up to five days. Use on sandwiches, salads or much more!

Notes
- Do not add all the oil at once with the other ingredients. In all my testing for this recipe, it didn’t seem to emulsify nicely into a thick Miracle Whip.
- Instead of all the white wine vinegar, you can substitute one teaspoon of it with one teaspoon of lemon juice.
If you try this recipe and use it to stock your pantry with like our family, I would love it if you gave it 5 stars! Thank you!

Yes, you can use apple cider vinegar or white vinegar.
They won’t give as much tanginess to your homemade Miracle Whip, but they will still make a very delicious homemade Miracle Whip!
Can I use other oils instead of avocado oil?
Yes, you can use other oils instead!
Olive oil would be my go to instead, but any other oil will work as well to make your own homemade Miracle Whip.
