I love the process of making bread dough! Something about working with the dough and seeing what it turns into is pure satisfaction for me.

Although, the time bread dough took intially was not satisfying.

It wasn’t until I was serious about making sure my home had homemade bread products that I developed making these 1 hour dinner rolls!

They turn out soft, fluffy and delicious every time!

Notes

To prepare ahead of time:
  1. Make the dinner roll dough as directed, cover the pan with plastic wrap and allow the rolls to rise in the refrigerator overnight.  Allow them to come to room temperature, uncovered, while preheating the oven.  Bake as directed.

How can you prepare the dinner rolls beforehand?

To prepare these dinner rolls beforehand, simply make the dough as directed.

Then, cover the pan with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for part of the day or overnight to allow the dinner rolls to do a “cool” rising in the refrigerator.

When you need to bake them, allow the pan of risen dinner rolls to sit out and come to room temperature as the oven is preheating.

After preheating is done, bake as directed!

Can you freeze dinner rolls ahead of time?

Yes, you can!

Make and bake the dinner rolls as directed. Let them cool completely before wrapping in plastic wrap or put into a freezer safe bag.

The night before serving, let the rolls unthaw at room temperature.

If you want them warm (like you just pulled them out of the oven), and pop the rolls into the oven on a low temperature to warm completely up to serve!
