mason jar with lid & ring
Scale
4
inch
fabric squares
8
inch
piece of yarn/string
Labels
Permanent Marker
Scissors
Elastic Bands
Instructions
Place the mason jar on the kitchen scale and zero out the weight. Then, measure out 10 grams of dehydrated sourdough starter in the jar.
Label the jar with the contents.
Tie the 8" piece of yarn onto the mason jar ring. Tie another knot at the end of the string.
Place the lid on the mason jar with string in the position you'll want it to hand onto tree from.
Center the fabric square on lid and secure with two rubber bands.
Cut a slit in the fabric where the string will hang on the tree. This will prevent that fabric edge from being pushed up by string.
Cut any other parts of the fabric for desired look.
Print out "How to Rehydrate Your Sourdough PDF", and cut it out.
Fold into quarters to create a booklet, and hang it on the tree next to your finished sourdough starter ornament.
Notes
Consider using different holiday fabrics if creating many several sourdough starter ornaments to make them all a little different and personal.
