Ingredients

  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp parsley flakes (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 4 Tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 loaf French or Italian bread (about 8 slices)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°.
  • Combine the garlic powder, parsley, salt and onion powder in a small bowl.
  • Mix in the softened butter, until well blended.

Garlic Bread - Loaf

  • With the half loaf of French or Italian bread, cut about 8 even slices but do not cut all the way through the bottom. (This will help it hold together better, and keep the garlic butter in as it is baking.)
  • On both sides of the bread slices, spread the garlic butter mixture evenly.
  • Wrap the bread completely in aluminum foil, and bake for 15 - 20 minutes.
  • Remove the bread from the oven, and unwrap the aluminum foil.
  • Allow to cool for a couple of minutes before tearing the slices off and serving.

Garlic Bread - Slices

  • Cut the half loaf of French or Italian bread into about 8 even slices.
  • On one side of the bread slices, spread the garlic butter mixture evenly.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and spread the slices garlic butter side up.
  • Bake for 10 - 15 minutes.

Notes

      • To prepare:  Unwrap the plastic wrap, and re-wrap in aluminum foil before baking for 25 minutes at 375 degrees.
    • Slices - Slice the bread slices all the way through, and butter one side with garlic spread.  Freeze on a lined baking sheet, and then transfer to freezer bag for up to 3 months.
      • To prepare: Line a baking sheet, and place the garlic bread slices butter side up.  Bake for 15 minutes at 375 degrees.
